Polished In Perspex

Image
Picture this, you’ve bought an amazing new outfit which you’re dying to wear but have no shoes to match. We’ve all been there. This is why one of my favourite trends at the moment is perspex shoes, as their clear straps make them easy to style and work with pretty much any outfit. They’re great for people who want to look put together with minimal effort due to their barely there yet polished look; and let’s not forget how long they make your legs appear! I recently purchased two pairs of perspex shoes which have been awesome additions to my wardrobe this summer. Perspex heels seem to be the most popular choice and are sold by pretty much any well-known fashion retailer at the moment. Mine are the ‘Nude Square Toe Clear Heels’ from Missguided (£35). They’ve proven perfect for nights out when I’ve wanted the extra height but didn’t want to look too overdressed. Missguided £35 If you love the perspex trend but don’t fancy a pair of heels, you can could opt for some perspex...

Lush Mask of Magnaminty

Image
Uni deadlines have begun and the stress has caused my skin to breakout. So, I used this as the perfect excuse to treat myself to a new face mask!  When it comes to face masks , I typically purchase the 99p sachets from Superdrug, however, my friend recommended Lush’s Mask of Magnanimity and I liked the idea of trying something new. It is described as ‘a minty, multi-purpose mask with a mixture of gentle yet effective ingredients, including honey and kaolin, to help you maintain your magnificent skin.’ After only a couple of uses, I can already say that this will become an essential product in my skincare routine. It includes honey, which is not only great for its antibacterial properties, but also makes the formula less dry. This makes it a great alternative for those who don’t like clay masks, as they can be drying and leave your skin feeling itchy. The evening primrose seeds and aduki beans act as a gentle exfoliator, which left my skin feeling super soft. As the...

Black & White Basics: Trainer Haul

Image
When scrolling through Instagram, I can’t help but notice that every girl is wearing the same thing – trainers. These days, trainers aren’t just for the gym and can be worn for pretty much any occasion, whether that’s a causal shopping trip, going for lunch or even a slightly fancier occasion.  Up until recently, these were a few myths I believed about trainers... Myth #1 Trainers are for ‘tomboys’ For a long time, I didn’t think trainers would suit my style as I’ve always been a bit of a girly-girly. However, I’ve learnt that they're not just for ‘tomboys’,  and given the right pair, you can still feel and look girly. Myth #2 Trainers are expensive Whilst a lot of popular shoe brands, such as Adidas and Nike, retail their trainers for high prices, you don’t have to spend a fortune to follow this trend. If you’re on a budget, like me, then check out some high-street brands. A lot of them are selling fashionable trainers at a fraction of the price. If you...

My Top 5 Everyday Makeup Products

Image
I’ve thrown away hundreds of used products and tried dozens of different makeup brands during my 6-or-so years of wearing makeup, but there are some products I can’t help but stay loyal to. Here are my top five everyday makeup products, that I’ve been using and loving for years: Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer   £4.19 If you love drugstore makeup, then I’m certain you would have come across this concealer before. Just a little bit goes a long way and I never have issues with under-eye creasing. I use shades Fair (1) and Cool Medium (2) to conceal my dark circles and banish blemishes. Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation   £7.99 In my opinion this is such an underrated foundation and I have no idea why! Its satin finish makes it ideal for any skin type, as it’s neither too oily or matte. It has a medium-buildable coverage which enables you to layer it without looking cakey. I use this foundation during the day and on nights out to give me a flawless base ...
